Laugharne Township

Laugharne Township (Welsh: Treflan Lacharn) is an electoral ward and community in Carmarthenshire, Wales. The population at the 2011 census was 1,222.[1] The ward includes Laugharne, the village of Pendine and Pendine Sands. Located on the south coast of Carmarthenshire, southwest of St Clears, it was the civil parish corresponding to the marcher borough of Laugharne. A predominantly English-speaking area, just south of the Landsker Line, it is bordered by the communities of Llanddowror, St Clears, Llangynog and Llansteffan.

At the 2001 census, the population of the electoral ward was 2,942 people residing in 1,191 households; decreasing to 2,851 at the 2011 Census.[2]
